A good 2-star hotel

This is a good 2-star hotel.  The building is older and the rooms small, but everything is kept clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful.  We visited during a heatwave, and probably would have appreciated a fan (there is no air conditioning; there may well have been fans at the front desk, but we never remembered to ask) but managed to sleep well enough with the windows open.  Paris is a fairly noisy place, so earplugs were essential. Things to be aware of: this is an older building with a steep and narrow staircase.  There is a small (tiny) elevator but it stops in between floors meaning that you still have to climb a half flight of stairs.  If stairs are a problem, then this is not the hotel for you.  However, if you are looking for a clean, reasonably-priced 2-star hotel in a good neighbourhood with easy access to the subway and with friendly staff, then I would recommend this place.
